Improvements and construction on Interstate 95 near Garrisonville,
Stafford County, Virginia, that included a 2.2-mile reversible extension
to the I-95 Express Lanes. The purpose of the improvements was to increase
the capacity of the highway, improve travel times and reliability,
and provide congestion relief at the entrance and exit points.
In addition to the construction of new general-purpose lanes and access
ramps to the northbound and southbound Express Lanes, the work included
drainage improvements, the construction of sound walls, sign structures,
lighting and various ITS devices (dynamic message signs, cameras, gates, etc.)
to allow for reversible operation of the Express Lanes.
